BBQ Report

MDR's trusty BBQ gave up the ghost last week after at least four years and countless BBQ's. Saturday was spent checking out the BBQ shops and studying the merits of the various BBQs on offer.
After some spirited discussions between MB & MDR a Weber gas BBQ with lid was decided on. MDR picked one up on the way home from work tonight, assembled it in a few minutes, then read the assembly instructions....
MB had some nice pork loin chops ready, they are now cooking very rapidly and making the writer very hungry.

Wow! A new barbie. It must have difficult for MDR to let the old one go? I hope the new one works out like a fresh new beginning...

On the contrary, MDR was as keen as mustard to get the new BBQ fired up. The pork chops were excellent and the lid keeps the heat in so cooking time is quite reduced.

We have a simple gas BBQ; most common meal is atlantic salmon. Max the dog seems to enjoy the leftovers.

Hope your fingers have enjoyed the break from blogging...

Happy New Year....Hope you got some of the Wish List for gifts - I can recommend Wodehouse's Ukridge series, upon my Sam, old horse.

Happy New Year to you too Blues.

The enervating tropical summer saps my blogging inclinations.

Thanks for the reading tip, Wodehouse is a comic genius, can't wait to get a hold of Ukridge #1 (not available at Cairns Library though, surprise, surprise).

I've just finished reading "Death of a Dissident: The Poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko and the Return of the KGB", a real page turner and a great primer on contemporary Russian politics, talk about wheels within wheels....

With a Tassie trip in the pipeline MDR & I are feeling very upbeat, we've booked a Maui motorhome for 16 days. Looking forward to roaming Tasmania and grazing on all the delightful fresh produce on offer there.

Does that barbecue have a built-in security system that fires rockets?
